Morning Spiritual Recipe: OmenukoJesus in “Living the Word”

Theme: All are Called to be Like Christ…!
Being like Christ, as given in the theme, expresses what it means to be a Christian. The message of salvation is not only for the Jews but for all; and so, the Apostles and disciples of Jesus, in the first reading today, took the Gospel across nations to the point that a large number was added to them and because their life was in consonance with that of Christ, they were, in Antioch, first called Christians. Jesus, already in the Gospel today, had expressed this will of the Father to Jews but they refused to believe him. And so, Jesus continues to open up the will of the Father; an invitation to a relationship with God in freedom, which was closed up by the many laws and teachings of the Pharisees and Saduccees. This openness was also extended to the Gentiles through the Apostles.
Child of God, we are called to be ONE with God; to act in accord with his precepts. Let us pray to God for the grace to remain steadfast that nothing may hinder this invitation.
