Morning Spiritual Recipe: Fada OmenukoJesus in “Living the Word”
5th June, 2023(Memorial of St Boniface, Bishop & Matyr)
Tobith 1:3; 2:1a-8
Mark 12:1-12
Theme: Flee from the Company of the Wicked!
In the first reading, Tobith tells of his good works, for which he is mocked by others, yet he never gave in to their evil and ungodly companies. In the gospel, Jesus tells the parable on the need to understand that our lives and everything we have are all gratuitous gifts from God, and we must use them to glorify God.
As much as possible, do not join the company of those who find more pleasure to discuss often the downs and pains of others rather than their strengths and how best to make themselves better. Avoid greed and ingratitude for they dry up the ocean of God’s blessings upon one’s life. The evil tenants in the gospel received the vineyard gratuitously and decided to pay back with a plot to overtake the vineyard. We may condemn them, but we are not different when we treat the life God has given to us, which is his vineyard, in like manner. Child of God, let us endeavour to use our life to glorify God in all we do.
Good morning, and have a wonderful week ahead.
