Morning Spiritual Recipe: Fada OmenukoJesus in “Living the Word”
Wednesday 7th June, 2023
Tobith 3:1-11a, 16-17a
Mark 12:18-27
Theme: God of the Living, Not Dead!
In the first reading, we see the earthly ordeals of Tobith and Sarah and the insults they suffered. However, God heard their prayers and intervened in their situations by sending Angel Raphael to heal them and grant their request. God did this to show how much interest he has in our earthly lives and how ready and willing he is to answer us and order our life here on earth. But again, he reminds us that life does not end here on earth. After living here on earth and one dies, would that be the end as the Saducees believed in the gospel? No! At all times, we should work hard and endeavour to live and not die; life on earth and life eternal, for God is a God of the living and not the dead. Death is only a transition and not an end in itself. Jesus uses this assertion to describe the true nature of God and the fate of those who sincerely seek him. They never die; they only pass on to eternal life and glory. Just as Jesus told the Saducees, many of us are misled today with various thoughts and ideologies about earthly life and the destination of man. Beloved in Christ, seek, therefore, life eternal while living and ordering your earthly life.
Good morning, and have a wonderful day!
